California Road Trip - Day 9 Big Sur/ Cambria

There are a lots of little (or long) scenic hikes you can do in Big Sur.  Unfortunately, time wasn't our friend - we want to get to Cambria by the evening.  Therefore we have to be selective.

You can read about the available routes here :
http://www.hikinginbigsur.com/
It is very informative - with details about the difficulty level, where to start, picture and description of the route.

I have picked 3 or 4 hikes in advance and just  wanted go with the flow on the day - stop by wherever we want.

We drove down from Monterey in the morning and of course we have to stop by to take a photo of the bixby bridge

According to wiki:
"Prior to the opening of the bridge in 1932, residents of the Big Sur area were virtually cut off during winter due to the often impassable Old Coast Road "

We then went on the Pfeiffer falls and valley hike - a nice and easy start :p

Keith loves this little river crossing :-p

We then went to Big Sur Bakery Restaurant for lunch

French toast with berries coulis

We then went to Mcway falls - one of the most popular spots.
It was a very easy and well maintained path.

Pacific Valley Bluff trail
I wouldn't call this a proper hike :p Just a short walk from the highway to the coast.  Just a quick stop before we leave :(

We then arrived at Cambria and my friend recommended this charming restaurant called Robin's.

The garden looks lovely but there was a special live music event there that evening.
So we sat at the patio instead and we ordered a few small plates to share.
